Honeybrains juices and juice shots are made in-house from scratch and contain unique combinations of healthy ingredients that are delicious and good for you. Each juice also contains one and more active, natural ingredients that have scientifically-proven benefits for brain and body health and function. We also balance each juice with just the right amount of fiber (which is lost in the juicing process) so that the ratio of sugar to fiber is similar to that found in a whole apple. Natural sugars, when balanced with fiber in ratios found in fruits and vegetables, are digested by our bodies in ways that are good for us.

To feel happy, our bodies convert the folate from foods to neurotransmitters like serotonin. Greens are particularly high in folate. Spices like saffron, and herbs like sage, also influence neurotransmitter levels. We also added l-theanine from green tea for you to feel good and live life with bliss!

Balance means having the right levels of nutrients and healthful fats in our bodies. Balance keeps our circulatory system, which feeds the innermost parts of our hearts and brains, pristine. The color pigments and fiber in teas, algae, and whole grains promote balance by optimizing our digestive system and metabolism. We added spirulina, a blue-green algae, for an extra green boost!

To make memories, our brain cells rely on a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine that helps neurons connect. Herbs like rosemary may improve human memory by making more acetylcholine. When digested, rosemary also stimulates synapses for better communication and retention of new information. Citrus, veggies, and fiber have been added to allow for better nutrient absorption.

Endurance is the ability of our muscles and brains to work well for a continued period of time. Red foods like pomegranate and cherry help us with endurance because they are high in nitric oxide, which dilates our arteries for better blood flow. To super charge this juice, we added rhodiola rosea to the mix, which is an herb that the Vikings used for energy on long sea trips.

A good working memory enables us to multi-task productively. Regularly eating foods high in saponins such as the herb ginseng may improve our working memory by increasing the density of dendrites in our brains (that’s the part of nerves that connect to other nerves)! So we loaded this juice with ginseng, balanced it with citrus, and added some green tea for an extra focus boost.

Modern athletes are turning to foods such as tart cherries and black currant to improve performance. They are high in nitrates which dilate blood vessels, allowing more energy to flow to muscles. We included whey protein and healthful fats (DHA) because many of us want natural pre and post workout nutrition that does not fill up the belly.

For us, the term flow refers to circulation. Circulation is the process of transporting nutrients and energy throughout our body and brain. A healthy circulation enables us to perform well in school, at work and in athletics. We mixed grapes, blueberries, saffron and teas because they contain color pigments that minimize inflammation. Caffeine in teas can also increase alertness and support athletic performance. Serrano peppers give this juice just the right amount of kick.

Did you know ginger and turmeric aren’t roots? They are rhizomes, that are the knobby, subterranean stems of some plants. This is where the nutrients are stored for later use and we juiced them into this shot! Plus, ginger and turmeric are medicinal foods proven to aid digestion. Turmeric improves digestion by helping with absorption of other nutrients. Ginger aids digestion by stimulating the muscles in our intestines.

Feeling under the weather? The Vitamin C and zinc in this shot could prevent or reduce cold-like symptoms. If you just want an immunity boost, this zesty citrus ginger shot is also a delicious way to get a vitamin boost! Consume once daily for maximum potential benefit, and consume for three days within the first 24 hours of cold-like symptoms to potentially heal quicker.
